Hopefully someone knows their way around this situation, I am wanting to access UK Chanel 4 in Australia however it will only stream in the UK. Is there a way around this through the use of a VPN or the like?
Pretty sure VPNs are illegal in Australia, so there's absolutely no way around it. You can't subscribe to NordVPN for about $100 a year. Just make sure you turn it off before you do any shopping or banking because your bank's fraud department will pick it up as random foreign access, and freeze your accounts.
What? VPNs are illegal? Where did you learn that nugget from?
Similarly, if what you said is true, my actual bank access from overseas would have resulted in access to my accounts being locked, which is different to 'freezing' your accounts anyway.
To answer the original question though, I used NordVPN to access "free' content on the BBC sites, and from memory it was very spotty at certain times of the day and fine at others. It opens up content that only people in the UK can access normally, but I think the load through the servers was too much to get seamless content.
I wouldn't use NordVPN again though as they have this screwed up sysytem where unless you cancel your subscription at the exact right time, they effectively force you to renew it again for another year or more. To my mind, if you have a good product, you don't need to conn people into renewing by stealth.
