The bird had a round head with no apparent features (eyes, mouth etc) and made a loud high pitch singular screech. The tail was spikey in appearance and was pivoting up and down past 90? in motion. It was also swimming underwater for more than 10 seconds at a time. I can't post any photos as I have to be a member.
