Did anyone watch that video where the Ukraine drone is tracking the last Russian soldier and he tries to surrender to it? It shows you the reality of how easy it is to die and how its a bit more close to home when you can see the situation these guys are in.
What is 'Russia' thinking when they throw kids into a war for nothing where they die needlessly? I wonder if any of the children of the leaders there were sent into war? If its like 'war' anywhere over history, the elite probably hide their children from it.
At the end of the day, even if Russia 'wins' is anyone going to want to do business with them if they can avoid it?
Crazy. I thought the world had moved on.
I was reading about Unit 731. It's unimaginable how people treat each other, and the depths that people sink to.
Yeah, I was listening to a youtube doco on the Japanese army and they talked about that. I think they said something about the research on frostbite was advanced because of that, but pretty inhumane way to learn something...
Funny, I have a friend that insists that the US did not need to drop the bombs on Japan but did it because they could and wanted to prove them. After listening to this doco, I don't think this is true. I think Japan would not have given up at all until they were all dead if they used conventional fighting. The doco talks about the attitude amongst the people, not just the military, that you go down fighting whatever the cost and that it was better to die than give up. They mentioned the battle of Okinowa where the US didn't think it would be that hard but found the Japanese would fight to the end even though they were running low on resources.
But Russia? What are they going to gain? The hatred of the rest of the world? and that's if they even win.
Putin really doesn't have that many options though. How do you back out of the scenario if you are worried about your own party? Maybe someone should offer him asylum in the carribean and leave him alone if he gives up?
