were they offering seniors discounts for tickets..?

i bet the handicapped parking fills up real quick,

do they allow those motorised lazy old people buggies in..?

i hear they get noise complaints from their audience

I missed them in syd. I was at the Massive Attack concert and a girl in front says to her friend says "the pixies were great last week". My wife laughed out loud, she hates the pixies, but knows that I would be really annoyed at missing them.
Oh well, maybe next time :-(

you must prefer those "modern bands" that have no musicians or instruments. Mind you they're great at playing the CD player. Yahoo....

Why is it that everything that is old is new again? Doc is so so right - they had their time a very long ago. I wish more bands had the sense to wake up to themselves and cut out when their time was passed.

Pixies are so 2005

Anyone here fans of Die Antwoord - now they are a band that rock the interweb here and now, for me.

Some great toons in their time but very patchy/scratchy and TOTALLY overated I always thought.

I am always very suspicious of reformation bands. $$$ talk and there is never any shortage of punters wanting to re-live the glory days at 4 x the cost they could have seen em for in their heyday.

A couple of mates saw em in 05/06? and they still have a chubby so maybe the Pixies are an exception.

I just can't listen to Mr Black for more than 3:25 in one stretch.

Try thinking of 'cold spaghetti' after the gig Rellie.

Yep, fat bald and over 40 and still rock in a nostalgic kind of way. I like the breeder, loved her interview on the rock of ages.

the pixies were the band that 'influenced' bands, then the too hip to be cool set got on the train of who was too hip to be cool before the too hip to be cool was cool, then the pixies became cool.

they keep hitting australia because we're the only place that hasn't seen them for who they are and grown tired of them yet.

SONIC YOUTH, now thats cool

Butch Vig and Sonic Youth = yummy.

Sonic Youth steering the ship = Mmmyeh.. there is some listenable stuff in there.

Trainspotters may notice Jason Lee (Earl from that dumb@rse TV show & Kevin Smith twaddle films) in this vid. Used to be handy with plank.

There were loads of people listening to the Pixies in 1988 & 1989 & 1990.... But yes, there were a few other people that jumped on the band wagon at various stages after that....

Sorry to all the haters but I can confirm that Pixies rock. How 'bout at the end of fight club when all the buildings are falling and he says something like we met a a very weird time in my life or something and then they crank up the pixies. Awesome. one of my favourite movie moments, largely 'cause of the pixies.

I saw the Pixies play at Belvoir and would say it was in my top5 favourite gigs of all time. I would rate them as good as QOTSA, Melvins, and Tool. And I have seen Sonic play as well.

Saw them at Belvoir on the sunday - Sat sold out.
Saw them previously at Brixton in 90/91 and Perth last time they were here
The Sunday was one of my most memorable all time fav rock n roll moments.
They were so tight and played beautifully.
