This forum is heading for closing.

It's because of those well known members who consistently bring up heavy topics (religion/politics/vaccines/conspiracy/racism) which are not in the spirit of what Seabreeze is about.

The minority wrecking it for the majority.

Plenty of latitude has been given, but the same people keep rejoining after being banned, and starting or derailing topics with their gripes, despite there being many websites around the world suited to this content, where you can go and discuss.

It's simple:
We're a sporting site. A site for fun, getting out, and enjoying life. A break from lifes heavy stuff.

So:
Posting any stuff that falls into the "heavy" category will result in an instant permantent ban.

I find there seems to be a group of people who only post in STB to create conflict and don't actually contribute anywhere else.

Be sad to see it go for the "genuine" shooting the breeze topics which are still of value.

It's a bit like graffiti, remove it quick and the taggers loose interest and go elsewhere. Moderate to the highest degree, some will get annoyed but those who are here for what Seabreeze is intended won't care. Nice one Laurie

Phew, for a minute I thought they were going to ban discussion on bitcoin, AI and 2 stroke carburetors.

trouble is, then there is no funny images thread? then again that recently got infested with CT nutters too, just a pic with all their crap written over it and nothing funny about it.

as I said 15yrs ago there are lots of fora where if a new person looks like a bit of a troll or not there purely for discussion about the hobby then just get banned. So many here would have not lasted a week .. And now there's this problem. Some have zero water sports posts and only about CT stuff. Ban.
you need say 10 active mods spread out over the 5 disciplines here

Here's an idea - allow users to access only specific areas. For example, Pugwash can access Shootin, Tootin and Windsurfing.

Other members, born again members, born again again members, born again again again members - members that only like to talk about flat earths, and chemtrails, and 911s (not the good German sort, the American sort), vaccines, more vaccines, COVID, their opinions on COVID, their opinion on vaccines, something some turd talkin head said about vaccines or covid or vaccines or covid or vaccines or covid or chemtrail vaccines - yeah, those folks - they get access to only one, new area of the forum. Heavy Weather reborn and renamed THE ECHO CHAMBER. Once all are in, close the door, lock it, throw away the key and there they may stay arguing about 2001 or 2020 or whatever to eternity.

Put heavy weather as a link to Reddit or 4chan or some other such cesspit where those topics can quarantined from the watersports.

Frothie I never realised it before, but you are dead set on the money. I haven't watched Archer since it was on the ABC years back but the Barry-Carantoc parallel makes so much sense now that you have connected the dots. Question is, how do we know if it's 'Carantoc', 'Other Carantoc' or 'Carantoc 6' posting? And will there ever be a SB approved moderator 'ChatCarantoc 7' in future episodes?
