At the time John Curtin was the best prime minister Australia could have had because he defied Churchill and brought our troops home.

There has not been a Labor prime minister since he worth his salt IMHO.

Bill Hayden might have been good and was set to win but they bribed him with the Governor General job, shoved him aside and stuck Aussie Bob in there six weeks before the election.
