Just watched the replay of the TG foot fend off to protect the ball for a mark.
What school is the umpire in... AWAW - might have to make a decision out of my comfort zone and think laterally....

Just imagine it is ok to fend off with the boot so in this instance both players use their feet / boots to foil the other player.
So GWS boot out at stomach / chest height.... to protect their access to the ball.
Sydney its ok to put the boot out so turns to "Look at the ball"whilst launching feet first into the defender "Get out of here" approach ..
Is it going to be ugly - "Of Course" if I want to watch Cage fighting I would.....

It is bad enough having the ball holder fending off high very often - AKA Martin - close to the wind pipe -- awwwaaa..
Where as you had a tackler hitting the ball carrier in the same zone - PING it is High...

Umpire needs to be warned 30%+ of match fee gone if you can't make a decision of that magnitude..
I am so incensed I have been vocal on a couple of other footy orientated sites...

Hey i dont like footy either (any code) but being or living in Victoria this makes you a social pariah incapable of conversation even with women. They simply either talk about work or afl. And as an outsider its impossible to integrate because you might start to watch it in an attempt to hold a conversation, then they'll start talking obout the 86 vfl b grade final or something. Its almost as bad as being a conspiracy nut . BBQ's must be hard for you.

i did like a five months there over 20 years ago. I remember one sunday every tv channel had AFL on, and I turned on the radio and they were all ex afl players talking about AFL in between songs.
