Agree not a good look and to be honest I don't know if he knew he was being filmed in the athletes area.
I was watching on YouTube and wow the live chat comments!
Italo is normally the surfer catching the most waves and having the most fun.
His aerial abilities are awesome and in the heat he did an awesome rotation and landed it but then white water caught up and judged incomplete ride - tough call which cost him the heat.

He got good height in the above pic , I wish I could jump half that high .

I would have done way more, he was clearly robbed.

The judging yesterday was the worst I've seen. Italo clearly landed that massive air reverse got a 1.30.... He then did a couple of turns, floats, then reverse to get another mid-range score. Old mate did two turns that I could do and got an 8 or some BS.
Im not a fan of the brazos but I felt for him yesterday.

Ya true character comes out in the face of adversity. A childish temper tantrum speaks volumes about Italo the 'man', time to grow up.

Wish I was as passionate about my job as those professional athletes I love the Brazzos their competitiveness and desire

Tarnished Italo for me. Meanwhile the most hated Gabby is becoming one of the favourites now he has chilled out and said "I just want to surf more, less strategy" or something along those lines. No Charlie.

He moved to a semi private area (probably not knowing he was being filmed) and let some heat go from his head. I've seen much more impressive tantys in the middle of a shop over chocolate bar.

they might be role models to some, but they're also "at work" when they surf. There is a great amount of pressure on them to perform (get results). It's hardly surprising that they lose their cool on occasion when things don't go well.

From the footage it appears that he walked off the beach quietly and did his best to be somewhere private when he lost his cool. There are far more public televised displays of supposed role models losing their cool at a fellow player often enough through each winter in australia.

That poor board though....

Role model AFL knocks all teeth of a caddy player at the pitch and professional reporters still find an excuse to defend him.

Let out some steam when he thought he was out of view. Not great, but nowhere near as bad as Australian cricketers who act deliberately with a cool head.
