- One day I was feeling full of myself and punched the back board of an exercise machine... there was a bolt behind the board that cracked my knuckle... hurt for 5 months.

- I was topping up some car motor oil and checking the level with the AT dipstick... I over filled.

Fall off skatey, smash elbow, 4 days in hospital, still doing 2hrs physio a day 4 months later and it'll never be the same.
The stupid part was that I felt one small odd wobble under front wheels. Didn't stop to investigate. About 1km later, bushing split right thru & ejected, dropped board onto front wheels while I was committed & leant over.

Dumbest thing I did was sit down at a job, talked to the guy next to me, and found out his name was FlySurfer!

It took away all the fun of taking the mickey out of him! Damn you!!

Rigged bottom section of rdm upside down, thanks to being over-excited about sailing for the first time in 4 years. Had a horrible session, and haven't sailed since.

Spent the last 6 months trying to remove the mast extension, and only on my last attempt did I realise it was upside down. (Oh that's why the top section was so loose) ...idiot...

Booking the family for a seven week European holiday finishing in four weeks time and stupidly checking the wind conditions for WA while looking at the snow outside in Germany and Austria

We're having a ball though and enjoying every moment although I reckon it will be a quiet New Year with only a few pints of German beer and schnapps with our German friends

Enjoy the wind and have a great New Year! Leave me some wind for February please

Decided to change the oil on Toyota Camry, having never done it before on this car I looked underneath for the drain plug, this must be it, unscrewed and drained into pan. Opted not to change filter, manual says 4 quarts, added 4 quarts and jumped in car and started engine. White smoke immediately started pouring from the engine. At this moment I realized I had drained the automatic transmission of fluid and added 4 extra quarts of oil to the engine crankcase. The transmission was running without fluid. I fixed it all and fortunately it hasn't been a problem.

The day after reading Kiteboy Dave's post, the same thing almost happened to me. I was incredibly lucky that the skateboard wheel fell off at the top of the hill and not halfway down it. Would have been kicking myself for not stopping to investigate the strange new noise coming from the wheel, especially after Dave's warning.

Nearly terminated my existence in February.

Rigging my boat,, wind picked up and the sail did a 360 round the mast. The point of the boom hit me on the jaw and collar bone causing lots of blood and stars that I haven't seen since my footy days. Any harder and I would have been out and overboard. Definitely a sit down and think moment.

Bought a key safe, and thought I had forgotten the combination after not using it for 6-months. Went through the ENTIRE 10,000 possible combinations, still couldn't open it, then realised I'd known the combo all along, and just forgotten the trick to open it. (It isn't really a trick)

Hopefully my brain has reset itself now...

Got tossed off a wave while windsurfing, landed on a rock just under the water, got a major bruise thru the harness!
And I've known about that one rock for about 30 years!
