Snow? As in snow peas? Must be a photo of a snow pea plantation.

It had better kick in. I have a season pass. If not, I will have to go to Canada or Japan in our summer and console myself!

Last season was fantastic. I don't recall what it was like early on, but towards the end it was great.

The season before I only realised that the snow was great too late in the season and only got two or three weekends out of it.

Its still really early in the season, the first week, and an early one at that.

But according to SMH there is hope for this weekend... unless you hate cold weather:

"This one will bring temperatures potentially not seen for two years and at the very least we'll have one of the colder outbreaks we've seen this winter, it'll be very cold.
"The various cold fronts will bring rain across southern parts of South Australia and Victoria as well as Tasmania; on the weekend that could lead to flash flooding in southern and south eastern Tasmania.
Mr Meyers said the snow line could drop to 1200m or lower with substantial falls from Friday onwards. The ski fields, such as Thredbo and Perisher, could see lows of -6C on the weekend and snow falls of 20-50mm for four days in a row.
"There is going to be snowfall and it's going to be heavy, potentially as much as a metre," he said."It's getting cold enough (for the snow) to spread into NSW and maybe even the Central Tablelands could get snow on Sunday morning. It's going to be a very cold weekend ahead."

No hope for this weekend unless you want to ski rocks in a white out with one lift operating. The week end after might be worth a week ender if they get the forecast 60+. with no rain. Might even get a few lifts open if a good dump.

Not this week end tho!

Don't worry they will probably pumping the skies above the snowy with chemicals so you can have your snow, it will be fine if the clouds get their silver lining.

Edit: That's incredible. Literally 3 days ago you could see grass almost everywhere, and now its got some cover. Lets hope it hangs around and then gets better.

I thought so. I never like to make fun of people with tongue deformities, so I didn't say anything.

Hopefully this snow keeps falling and then clears up perfectly in time for a mid week trip.

What's your problem?

Here's the thing. I live on the Gold Coast in sunny Qld and I don't ski. I love being warm and walking on the beach in my boardies as I did today and just loving the warm sunny day. Gotta love it when I watch the evening news and am told more warm weather on the way and life is as it should be.
Here's what I hate. The evening news telling me that record snow has fallen down south and the snow fields are pumping and everyone's skiing and whatnot. And I think to myself here come the cold southerlies and forcing me to drag out my steamer as the water temp had dropped to 22deg. as it did a couple of weeks ago.
But praise be , the snow melted, the southerlies stopped and life returned to normal. I've still kept the steamer out as the water temp has dropped to a chilly 21deg. but hey, thats life.

I just got back on Wednesday from a week skiing at Perisher. It was awesome with excellent cover for this early in the season.

If it keeps up like this with the ocassional storm, its going to be a great year!

Why is it sad? Well, its October and ski season is finished, but there is still snow! Sad because I can no longer go skiing!

Some years there would be all grass earlier than now. This year has been exceptional. It shows you that despite global warming, some seasons are excellent and some are poor.

Oh well you could always wait for Autumn.
