I'm pretty sure it's the kind of weapons (and people) the NRA was referring to when they were saying that schools should be armed to protect themselves...

My wife shot an M-60 in vietnam. She said "choose me a girly one" at the range.

Happiness is a belt fed weapon.

That wouuld be a hell of a lot of fun. But I can't imagine how much time they spend loading up their magazines for the non-belt fed weapons. Dissapointed that they didn't show us the gravity fed oldschool gattling gun being shot off. Would loved to have seen its rate of fire!

Interestingly the only one there that does not need a license.
It needs the handle turned to keep firing so it is not a "machine gun" by definition in the USA.

Here we license air rifles and banned plastic pellet guns

Great video.

Under USA federal law, air powered and black powder firearms are not firearms- so no license required.
Some local government areas may have local regulations controlling thier use though.

Did you notice the black powder bowling ball mortars- they can throw a bowling ball over 1000 metres!

Another anomaly in USA fed law,[I am pretty sure it is still valid] is that you can manufacture a machine gun, or any firearm you like- as long it is for your own personal use.
You cannot loan it, or sell it- as then you require an appropriate license, and laws regarding serial numbers and manufacturing red tape apply.

Machine guns, destructive devices like grenades, short barrelled firearms, flame throwers, artillery pieces etc are permitted by the federal govt. as long as you comply with the laws and pay the stamp duty tax thingo.

[IIRC] this involves the written approval of your local police chief, State police and Governor, and be checked out and approved by the BATFE.

[The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives]
-------------------------------------------------------------------

Is it just me or does the BATFE sound more like a destination for a fun time- than a government department?

How about that pistol he was shooting. Nearly took his thumb off and as he said it disabled him for any wanking that night.

^^^ Think it may have been the .45/70 revolver made a few years back? But the cylinder looks too short perhaps??
So i thought .50AE or something - that is a hard hitter but not as bad as that looked in the video

Ha, I never thought of that.

Never thought I'd say this about a gun - but that old hand crank Gatling Gun was kind of pretty all shined up like that.

I have 3 regrets from my last trip to Hawaii...
1) Not spending $200 at the shooting range, to shoot the big guns!
2) Hiring a Chev Malibu instead of The Hummer!
3) Giving a beggar $1, but I should have given him $5... or $10...

I went to Pakistan in 1991 and went out into the North West Frontier Province to visit a place in this day and age called "The most dangerous place on the planet". The place wasn't that safe then either as we had to sign waivers to the government and take an armed escort with us. We went out to "Darra" where they make guns, ammo and Hashish. I fired the Kalishnikov AK47 (2 clips around 30 each) on semi auto and full auto .... Bloody good FUN!

Also offered to fire an RPG-7 but couldn't afford the round of $50 US. Also couldn't afford the Anti Aircraft gun there. I was backpacking on a shoestring and even the AK set me back $10 a clip. Fun place, but glad to come home with no holes in me. Gun fire all around the entire time within the village, from rooftops, in the street and out on the "Range" LOL. I have some cool picks if anyone is interested in seeing.
