An old boss of mine was diagnosed with Ross River in the early 1990's, the old fella was at the time in his late 80's, owned Brownes Dairy but lived in Marradong [a few klicks north of Williams.]
He did the classic "tripped over the bloody blue heeler" and got tangled in the hot wire - getting a long wallop from the fence.
Passed out, came around several hours later feeling ruddy awful, staggered off to bed [with a hefty shot of brandy]
Woken up by his wife when she came down from Perth 2 days later - and he was feeling great.
She dragged him to the vet for a check up - blood test had no trace of the virus.
Dunno if it was the 'leccy fence or the brandy that did the job, but he was a tough old fella.
