... return trip from Rotto to Fremantle last Friday afternoon was particularly rough. We probably headed to far North when we left Thomsons. Any advice on bearings to take in such a situation?

Presuming youre heading back to freo, once youre clear of all the hazards leaving thomsons bay, you locate the red (port) lighthouse on the end of north mole and maintain a heading just to the south of that. I'll be buggered if i can remember the actual bearing.


How far south you aim will depend on how heavy the seas are. not a pleasent ride with the sea swell coming at you on the rear quarter.

which ever bearing points your nose to the rotto airstrip sounds good to me

it's worrying that you couldn't or didn't think to use the giant RED CRANES at the freo port as a point of reference
