I received a written request from the real estate agent to complete a full clean as per standard inspections and send them pictures.
This is my intended reply, do you think that I am too hard!!!!
To whom it may concern,
Thank you for communicating your request for out rental property to be cleaned as per a standard rental inspection and for pictures to be forwarded.
I do certainly understand the need to maintain social distancing and am fully aware that this has a major impact on your capacity to complete your work.
I do however find it a little strange that your solution is too offload your job (completing an inspection) directly to the tenant.
However I am flexible and willing to abide as soon as a deposit into my account the standard inspection fee of $70.
Please let me know if you require the confirmation of my account details and I look forward to working together to achieve the best outcome for the landlord.
Regards,
100% agree with you.
I am a land lord and have been for many years.
Rental managing agents in my experience work for their own benefit with little concern for either party. Should an issue arise they just go with the stronger party sadly I been left with progressive deteriorating conditions.
Then that person representing the agent moves on and the excuses flow.
I have had my agent advise they are unable to do inspection until the virus is over. So like you I asked for a reduction in fees - then the excuses flow, I was almost in tears feeling sorry for them, not.
So why do I keep them - well I keep asking myself that and their value is now in the red.
