Thought I'd put up a post to honour the great Spencer P Jones who died yesterday.
Anyone who grew up in the late 80s watching classics like Billabong's Filthy Habits, Surf into Summer etc etc will have Spencer's tunes burned into ya brains (The Johnnys, Beasts of Bourbon, Scientists, Coloured Girls etc).

Anyway, dunno if the link'll work- but here's a tribute to the late, great Spencer P Jones. If it doesn't work go and put The Johnnys on or dig out that old Filthy Habits VHS and crank it!

Oh no way :( The man was a legend and played in a lot of my favourite bands.
we just lost Brian Hooper also from the Beasts of Bourbon a few months ago too.
Sad times :(

Yeah - for sure Hoop - definitely lost a couple of legends eh.
Cripes - spent many a shabby, drunken evening watchin these two legends - either with the Beasts, Surrealists and the Johnnys.
Frickin Oz legends man - and the soundtrack to many incredible sessions before and after waves too.

I'd forgotten how good the Johnnies were. That scene around Melbourne in the early eighties was awesome. Sadly we're soon to lose Chris Wilson.

I'm cooking my dinner, having a quiet beer and listening to "The belly of the beast" The epic Beasts of Bourbon compilation album.
