Hey I have been wanting to get into spearfishing for awhile now, but I have no idea where I could go that could be good with out a boat and that is outside of the marmion marine park, does anyone know of anywhere or if it is worth even trying?

All the fishes that followed the whites in while demersal was on have gone back out to sea nothing worth shooting Not sure around that area but if the crays are out so are the fish. Take care ! stay safe !\
wear a shat shield :-) Get a gidgie and go for occy in the nearest rockwall then trade it of as bait for fillets at the boat ramp[ ;-)

Without a boat, Perth is pretty average for spearing due to regulations. You basically can't legally spear anywhere between Mindarie and Rockingham. North of Mindarie there is a bit of ground, but the vis can be pretty crap because it's all pretty shallow and the swell/chop churns up the sediment.

Around Rockingham, Pt Peron is the most popular spot and does have some nice ground, although it does get pretty heavily fished so most fish are quite wary / have been taken. You might get some whiting, tarwhine, flathead, skippy etc around there. Check the DPaW website before you go though for a map of the area, because the southern part of the point is part of Shoalwater Marine Park and Spearing is prohibited.

For shorebased spearing, i'd recommend heading down south. Basically from Dunsborough south, (Between the Capes, and the whole south coast between Augusta and Esperance) is great. Good dropoffs with deep water easily accessible from shore, which means better fish. In the shallows you’ll get whiting, skippy, tarwhine, flathead, flounder, goatfish, leatherjackets etc. Out a little deeper you’ll find queen snapper, harlequin fish, blue groper, dhufish, boarfish, breaksea cod etc.
