...and if people miss out on going to a nightclub for a few weeks, bad luck to them.
Ahhh...I get it now. If it's in your small sphere of interest, a compromise is ok, but if it's not, well screw those people eh?
We gotta keep the restaurants open, let people dine in, it's not like they can't adapt to take-away and delivery services...
Nightclubs can go suck it, bad luck, no compromise for them, who cares if they go bust.
Well, in my sphere of interest, which probably aligns with 90% of people, its a good compromise.
Nightclubs would be a disaster. A place I go to is okay early on, and people sit around and drink, but later it is very busy and with everyone drinking a bit, people are going to be close together, talking loudly, and not wearing masks at all. If one covid-positive person ends up in there, it could spread super quickly.
By contrast, you see a lot of people in restaurants in Northbridge, having a nice meal, not that close to each other, and less likely to spread anything.
When we were all locked down I felt very sorry for some of these restaurants. As you say, some can switch to takeaway, but there are others that just vanished. There was no easy way for them to do takeaway. Putting them back through this would be hard on them.
Most people this last week have been good about things. Just today I was asked to sign in twice when in a shopping centre. A minor pain, but if it makes tracing easier and potentially stopping the next outbreak quicker, I am all for it.
I am jealous of those people that had the foresight to buy trending cool looking masks. I just have crappy ones, and feel like I missed to memo about buying good masks.
