I think more important then just realiseing how lucky you are due to your current position on this spinning ball of doom is that everyone is pretty much same intelligence strength dexterity etc etc the fact that your not turning over a log to feast on some grubs isnt because your smarter then the caveman its simply because your not in his current position. Once you see this enough times in your life (my realisation point was watching kids on a "resort" island pulling bits of left overs out of burning rubbish bags (hot meal no flys) and the reason why the penny dropped was because i would do something simular with my siblings at first i believed these kids were just playing with the incinerator like we did as kids it wasnt until they started getting excited and eating from it did i realise ohhhh okay.... so the kids are the same as me but the situation is not.
Anyways i do believe i have been lucky many many many times i nearly die a couple times a year doing the canopy sport thing and with all my studying and experience you KNOW if the great sliding bar of variables had of just been a little more to the left or right you wouldnt be walking ever again.
But maybe you could still run the finke desert with a good enough rollcage and a couple ghost riders with ya

not much you cant do with people helping ya.
If luck was truly real there would be some incredibly wild **** happening. Mouses killing lions people jumping to the moon or even wilder land a clean f16 7 on film
