Re-posted here, for those ignoring or not following the flat earth threads or just for anyone like me who simply missed it. It is a Japanese satellite that takes publicly available photos of our side (Oz) of the planet. "The AHI can produce images with a resolution down to 500m and can provide full disk observations every 10 mins".

I enjoyed spotting the smoke from the prescribed burns near where I live yesterday and still this morning. Besides just being an awesome thing to look at and enjoying the animation of the last day I can also see using it to watch the winter storms approaching.


I hope some people enjoy or find useful for weather observations. Also, if you have other resources like this, let us know.

Just checked out the "anti cyclone" to the east of Tassie that passed over last night, no wonder the weather was rather ordinary.

Its mind blowing to think you can look at a live satellite picture on your mobile phone. Might try again when its daytime down there. Be even more mind blowing.

You can scroll back to earlier in the day, when it was light, or watch the whole day animation which looks great in full screen.

I use thiss to predict a snofall many days in advance also wind and swell at the local ! Its better than the barometer ??
