Usually with me the lightbulb goes 'splat' in my head.

I would say that it goes 'on' when I have a good idea, but I am sure there are plenty of people walking around near me that have them permanently dimmed or blown.

What do I care? I could care less (Canadians don't say that one too do they?)

How about "I lucked out". Does that mean you were lucky or unlucky? I always thought it meant unlucky, but it seems to mean lucky in Canadiastan.

The opposite sounding words "unravel" and "ravel" mean exactly the same thing. Very rare phenomenon in English.

That one gets me too. 'Lucked out'? Out of luck, or I got lucky?

Nope: I couldn't care less. In my neck of the woods.

If you were environmentally aware and cutting down on burning fossil fuels,
you would say "A LED bulb went off/on in my head"
