At this point in time our best hope for near Earth and interplanetary transport is with nuclear power.
This is next step above chemical propulsion rockets.

But what I propose is huge LP vinyl disk like in space, covered by ultra thin solar cells.
Instead of complicated and expensive nuclear machinery that require another 20 years to mature my idea is simple.

Huge diameter disk , spinning for structural strength and stabilisation, made of graphene and covered with ultra thin , highest efficiency solar cells.
What is important in space - energy/ power to mass ratio.
Unlike nuclear 150 w/kg our spinning disk will have energy density measured in kw per kg with almost no additional electronics and complication required.
Solar cells arranged in series in vacuum space environment will supply very high voltage required to power ion engines without the need for complicated DC-DC converters.
Now I could seat and wait which company government will do first step in right direction.
My personal space craft is powered by antimatter but for humans here and now that presented solar should boost space conquer instantly.

Solar panel exist in space for decades already. I would be worry more about micro meteorites and space junk that could affect this dynamic system- but that details we need to leave to experts, make some tests and experiments.There are some unknown that can not be even theoretically predicted. Like a behavior of thin spinning disk in micro gravity. Slightest vibration , harmonics , micro holes by meteorites. But that can be resolved only onsite by scrupulous experiments in space one day.Alternatively to spinning disk I proposed inflated balloon like structure covered with thin solar layer where low gas pressure provide structural stability- but the same may apply- micro meteorites making holes and gas leak.

I propose the way the "aliens " travel and utilise mercury motors, in a space vacuum they would be unstoppable and only limited by friction of bearings within, you could go the magnet route so once it starts spinning there is no need for friction/ bearings

The biggest problem with mercury motors is to keep them a) pressurised b) cold very cold....
on earth this is super hard and expensive and likely to create mercury vapour and a highly explosive atmosphere.
in space where it is -270 and a vacuum it is the perfect scenario for a mercury motor to operate.
closest thing to perpetual motion we have ever invented and further never utilised in space travel...as yet .... by humans.....

A mercury motor will also create a gravity field and hence therefore change time within the field, time is relative and speeding it up or slowing it down would in essence create a "time ripple" which could allow in future a travel distance of a light year in equivalent to one earth day or less...

I think the implied thing from Elon's comment about looking for negative feedback is that you should actually listen to it, evaluate it, and not just gloss over it. I guess you are missing that very important difference.

Anyone can come up with ideas, even great ideas, and I am sure some of them have come from unlikely sources, but to invent 'great' ideas and then pretend they are viable without any checking is just silly.

I am sure I could have 'invented' heaps of things, but without any actual details, it means nothing.

This is not to stop you inventing things, but so far you have not really been good at backing your ideas with anything solid.

Right I told you, some technical issue must be resolved, but in general concept works as intended BTW. I know what you worry about now,. took me whole 30 s to get it right. I didn't think about this yet. In this relativistic device one thing ( parts of our disc) could be in different places at the same time different time same place or something like that.
Things getting even more complicated to imagine once we realise that in this angular motion (not linear but spinning) consecutive layers of our disc remain in different time zones already, then we interposition linear motion of the vehicle - craft.
In ordinary vehicle it may make no difference but once approaching relativistic speeds something is going to distort terribly( from external observer not passenger point of view) .
It is quite possible that your concept vehicle could serve both purposes- moving by space or time,
