Iron Mike one of the best heavyweights I have seen, amazing what you can acheive if you can harness that energy and equally a shame when it is left to run wild. In this me to world are we still allowed to enjoy his greatest hits?

Jonah Lomu the biggest freak I have EVER seen in rugby and probably would of dominated any sport he had a go at.

yeh he was a fighter alright. But yeh true against a skilled boxer after they worked out what he was about, was interesting.

If if you have ever looked into (and tried boxing) it's got to be one of the most technical sports out there. You find out real fast if your technique is poor.

His technique was great , he wasn't just a bashing thug. The whole idea of having technique is to win . He won lots .
Brings up the old question , how would have Ali gone up against him , both in their hey days ?
Id put my money on Tyson.

My first time in Maui mid 1989, just got a beer and the fight was over in 90 seconds
Wasn't boxing fan but big fight with all the hype and just endless replays and commentary.
Have to appreciate his skill in the ring but he did make some bad decisions out of the ring

He was a fighter and a boxer. Don't mistake power and an offensive style for not being a boxer. He wouldn't have ridden at the top of his game for all that time by just "fighting".

I agree with Imax1. I think people make the assumption just because he goes in hard and fast from the beginning. But look closer, and you'll see he takes more care than you think, he just doesn't waste any time getting to business and takes just about every opportunity as soon as presents itself.

I think the same thing happened to him as happens to a lot of celebrities. All those 'friends' that are hanging around are sucking you dry and expect to be paid for.. until the money runs out. I imagine that while you are earning you think it will last forever.

Of course, there will also be someone who wants to advise you too and get rid of your money real fast.

Lennox Lewis , Evander Holyfield on 2 occasions, Douglas , wouldn't count his last couple of bouts, he wouldn't fight bowe back then
3/4 of his apponents were certainly bait only a handful
were regarded as 1/2 decent,
he was the baddest fighter around but not the best boxer
Holyfield ripped his heart out in their 1st bout, was never the same fighter after
