Wow, that seems really accessible to the majority of people who aren't R/C nutters. I wonder how it goes with avoiding overhanging trees. It's really interesting in that they aren't shipping it with a joystick controller, maybe that helps to keep the cost down.

The folding props seem like a good idea, although they do tend to have vibration issues.

My little hubsan x4 goes fine in about 15kts and it's tiny. Everyone's surprised how well it copes. It kind of surfs the wind a bit but stays pretty steady overall.

What, pray tell, is a "digital" gimbal? If it can fly in 20 knots plus, I'd imagine a mechanical gimbal will be required for a steady shot.
the camera is fixed to the quad so the stability of the footage will be interesting to see.
anything digital (ie zoom) always means a big drop in picture quality.

I presume they refer to use of a digital gyro used to stabilise the internal camera....? (In addition to the digital gyro to make it fly (same as RC heli's)

Nope it will be processing applied to the picture to make the horizon level, in a similar way that youtube de-shakes video. Similar principle, but they have the bonus of knowing exactly the orientation of the camera at all times so it's easy to stabilise based on gyro inputs instead of guessing from the content of the video.

The fact that its waterproof is amazing, would be sweet if human controlled drones could be this way.
Kinda means that even if the wind did kick up to 25knots you could just let it crash in the ocean rather than fly 20 blocks inland
