For many years now I have been listening to the ABC nightlife program to help me fall asleep. Something about the TalkBack that I find relaxing. Who else has this habit?

Me. Every night. Sometimes I wonder if an audiobook would put me to sleep faster,.

Nope. Babbling brook in one of the free white noise apps works for me.

I thought about that, don't you get bored with the same sound? But then I suppose that's the whole idea.

I listen to reddit stories (read aloud on youtube) im not sure i'd call it white noise, it just gives my brain something pointless to think about. Otherwise i'll probably lay awake forever , thinking about anything and everything.

Radio? I hop into bed with my tablet and open up Chrome. It gives me about 20 or 30 interesting articles on science and engineering under the discover tab to send me back into my dreams.

I have been using this for a while now. Specifically I have been listening to the 'We are Legion (We are Bob)' trilogy that are narrated by Ray Porter.

Audible has a sleep timer but sometimes I have forgotten to set it and woken up hours later with the audio still going.

I have heard the same 'books' heaps of times, but I am still happy to use them to go to sleep. He has a great voice, and I think making the brain focus on something, it lets me sleep much quicker. Otherwise my brain would start thinking about stuff and take a lot longer to fall asleep.

I feel like I am a big baby using audio books like someone telling me a bed time story, but it works. Probably for the same reason, it focuses part of the brain and then the rest decide its nap time.

Funny, I can happily listen to the same books while driving and never feel drowsy, yet they are excellent for getting to sleep by.
