My girlfriend and I are looking to move to Next week. Just got back from travelling overseas for 3 years. Need some info on short term accommodation (don't want long term until we're sure we've got work). Does anyone know any good websites or any contacts for semi cheap short term accommodation. Having no luck on Airbnb or gumtree, and hostels look well overpriced after living in asia... Any info appreciated.

Peak tourist season in Southern Tasmania at the moment short term accommodation is at a premium, maybe look up the Hobart Mercury (newspaper on line), everywhere in Hobart will seem expensive (not quite Sydney prices) if you compare it to Asia.
But good luck, the "apple isle" is 'humming' at the moment. The work situation is not good, even got too many fruit pickers living in cheap camper vans all over the place.

As 'humming' as it gets... on handouts from the big islanders...
