It's just hitting a couple of news websites that police are searching for a body in the water out from Pt Moore. Sadly this one looks genuine, so I'll put it out there now, please no speculation on here or social media who it is. If you kite locally just ring your missus and tell her that you're ok.

Hope it's a false alarm

Just read this in the news. Sincere condolences to the family and friends.

Unfortunately not Cauncy, I didn't hit the beach today but I believe there were a few guys out there doing their best to help the guy, I'm sure someone will give us a run down on what happened when they're ready. Bu for now, condolences to his family.

According to this report they're looking for a body that kite surfers said they saw in the water, not that it was a kite surfer:

Police have responded to calls from local kite surfers who claim to have seen a body in the ocean off Geraldton.Kite surfers reported seeing the body of a man believed to be in his 50s off Point Moore Beach at about 4:30pm this afternoon.Point Moore Beach. Given media fails in the past (= every day!) I'd not say definitely if it is or is not a kiter.
They can't even supply a pic of "Point Moore Beach" that looks anything like it.................
