With young kids now no mates to dive with to many sharks dropped the diving. cant plan the wind don't get the opportunity to be away every afternoon on days off but have picked up a wonderful sport of mountain biking . Not hardcore mtb But just enjoyable rides around town Low impact quick rides that burn huge amount of calories .Mix it up get up into the hills! Great winter sport That's all \nOn/ (post pic of elevated views) Its breathe taking Think tourism is shift in western Australia May not be the best destination for surfing But there is a magnificent country to explore.

Did the same 6 or 7 years ago love it. Until you fall off, ground is harder than water. Great sport.

Just doing some MTB tracks in and around Dwellingup atm. Still love surfing but finding the weekend crowds and straight banks sooo frustrating.

Mountain biking is a great sport and complements water activities when the surf is flat or not windy.
During winter we do night riding on a Wednesday and is weekly activity with mates unless really good surf.

I had a crash at Christmas at parklands here on the Sunny Coast.

Shoulder is still playing up.

I am too lazy, too old and too fat to peddle or paddle.

Not sure it replaces watersports but bombing downhill sure beats sitting around waiting for the wind and waves.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention I've been building a small downhill track in my garden, just to avoid having to make too much effort to go anywhere. Hoping to get it to 1km long when finished.

flippin' heck how'd that happen.

Really, your calling that a crash ????? more like a little "woops"
A crash is when you can't stand up with in 5 minutes, let alone get back on and keep riding.

Hope ur shoulder is back to 100% soon

Just got back from a few runs down Mt Coramba this gentle sunny Sunday afternoon.

Compared to the sunny Saturday morning sailing at Flattop ? - well, certainly less busy and definitely fewer people to watch my ineptitude in attempts to get at least a tiny bit of air.

Hey Buster - Mrs and I just did these as part of an 80km MTB trail ride(s) over 3 days in Dwellingup. We are both 52yo and just got our MTB about 3-4 weeks ago, but I used to ride a bit of easy stuff 20yrs ago. The Green track is easy, the Blue one has some tricky sections... but both are great fun and not too extreme.

There are lots of old logging railway tracks around Pickering Brook that are good for mountain biking, I am not sure how many are still being maintained as I read someplace that a few of the tracks were being abandoned by whoever it is that looks after them.

A little warning though - try not to cut through the rifle range safety zone apart from bikes spreading die-back, we really hate the red tape that "moving targets" can generate.

Definately an equipment issue there.....just spend more on a better bike and you will feel better in no time..

MTB is awesome.

Sorry fellas regrowth and intell with Alcoa boys placed a verbal warning on ticks
After a brief review of land and water animals in Australia I have come to the conclusion that everything here will either eat you, poison you , make your blood coagulate , slowly destroy your immune system or chop you in half

Not sure whos tracks these are but wondering if they take a parachute or just land straight in a wheelchair Must have medical helivac on speed-dial. Dwellingup up looks nice and safe Be a good winters get-away if can find accommodation. Burnt 551 calories walking up it ;-) then 300 calories walking down it ;-) ( fell over it walking down track bike did cartwheels downhill and tore myself new asshole on rocks).

I'm pretty sure the original scorpion trail was named after that big stump from the photo, which makes it amusing that when the trails were reworked the scorpion is no longer on the scorpion trail...
