I feel for you ok .
Have been in similar situations .
When it last happened they were trying to get into the house while we were all at home rang cops there were at our place within two minutes as they we're patrolling looking for these guys & they told me they can't do anything unless they catch them red handed they eventually did & it was a father and son team that got done for 147 counts of break & enter .
Unfortunately I think you have to wait until they cause so many problems that orders come from the top to do something about it .
Because if they got charged for 147 I reckon they would have 10 times more they never got charged for
There's a good example.
Cops knew that a couple of blokes were active doing breaks in your suburb but not when. They really wanted to catch them but there is not enough cops to stick a car in your suburb 24/7 sitting there doing nothing and just hoping......
You rang as people were trying to actually break in (good idea) and the cops raced around and caught them, or were close. Or somebody else rang at the time.... and this time it worked and they got charged.......... charging them for 147 serious offences! Good onya cops.
But to do that, maybe the cops had to leave the incident that "ok" is talking about - where a drunk young bloke had wandered into his yard (albeit annoying, every chance it is not the guy responsible for all the sh!t going on in his street).
So you are happy, the cops did the right thing because they know what is going on, but at the same time all the people in "ok" street thinks the cops did nothing.
There's a bigger picture.
Its always interesting that people will trust their sparky and not tell him his job or their doc, or the plumber- but they will assert that cops have no idea and "did nothing"
If there is limited resources do you send two blokes in a car to the drunk young fella in the yard, or the deadset attempted break in with the guys you know are dangerous and/or responsible for 147 x serious stuff?
Coroners court "oh yeah we chose not to go to the one where the guys for 147 home invasions might be there, as there was this drunk kid in a yard, and we might have got a whine from the householder...." "Sorry they killed a guy who tried to defend his home"
Maybe those whose most difficult decision in the day is making decisions about what coloured widget or which house to go to next to quote , should stick to it.
Have you had a couple to drink or what? In the past 18 months I have had the following incidents happen.
Two female neighbours come and get me as there was a junkie in there back yard trying to break in. The cops come grab him take a knife off him give him a court attendance notice. That junkie then tried to physically attack me and we were both given move on orders. I was threatened to be arrested if i didnt leave the area I was trying to prevent him coming back to.
Another time on a cold windy rainy night again. Two aboriginals dressed all in black riding around my block in the dark and rain. I leave my house follow them discretely on foot for a few blocks. Film them going in and out of houses and stashing the goods. The police finally show up and want me to show them where theyve stashed the stolen goods instead of going after them. They ride off into the night with no ramifications.
Few weeks later I was sitting in my car waiting for the rain to stop and a young rough looking kid checks to see if my car door is open whilst im sitting in it, in the dark. I follow him down to his house. Cops dont even bother showing up.
Next person I caught was the young bloke i mentioned above. I caught him halfway through my locked gate as my 2 dogs were doing there job. I dragged him out of my house put him on the ground when a neighbour who was his school teacher came out and said he is known theif and ratbag the kid decided to start screaming that i flogged him. I didnt touch him, he then abused the cops saying they were being too rough and got away with a free lift home.
A few weeks ago my good friends car was stolen from the beach where the mentioned before commission flats have ocean views. 1 from three cars stolen that week.
He had all his expensive work gear in the car at the time. Police showed up and told us to go and check the commission flats as the POLICE weren't ALLOWED to due social rules and regulations.
I could go on all night with the amount of **** we get knocked off from building sites and even the damage they cause to get in to get nothing.
On monday night when my jackhammer got stolen another tradesmen a suburb away got his whole work truck and tools stolen.
My sister in law is a police officer in Sydney shes rang the duty officers in the station here and explained that they are doing a **** job.THE POST WAS ASKING ABOUT WHAT GPS TRACKERS I CAN USE TO CATCH THE GUYS, GO TO THERE HOUSE GET MY **** BACK AND THEN RING THE POLICE AND ASK THEM TO CLEAN UP THE MESS.
IT WASN'T ABOUT THE SOCIAL / POLITICAL CLIMATE OR WHOS DOING WHAT JOB WRONG.IF YOU CAN RECOMMEND A TRACKER THAT WORKS IT WOULD BE GREAT !
