For anyone that liked the books, there is a Les Norton series on ABC from tonight.

I didn't mind the books as they are a nice read, and pretty funny at times.

I wonder if this is going to be one of these things where the show is as good as the books?

I hope so, about the only movie that suited my image of the book was Steven King's "The green mile".

Agreed Mike. Had enough of the book's appeal transferred through to the screen albeit made that little bit easier as there's not a lot of depth to the books.

It seemed okay. It must be fun sourcing all these cars from the 80s and trying to keep it consistent.

I think the books were funny in that Les, most of the time seemed indestructable, no matter what.

Its good to see some local content for a change too.

Yes, its a tough ask though as Steven King went into so much detail that you 'knew' how a character thought. A bit hard to do that in a movie, but some are absolutely terrible, and I find it insulting to hear anyone talk about 'IT'. So far from the essence of the book, and a non-fan would be confused about what it was about.

I still remember friends trying to tell me that The Shawshank Redemption was based on a true story, and it almost broke their hearts when I pointed out the reference to Stephen King in the credits...

Pity Bob never lived long enough to see his manifestation (Les) on the big screen. I enjoyed his earlier stories of Les Norton where the plots were simple, "fighting, f$%king and and a bit of an earner".

There were 2 dogs at a rubbish dump and one was eating film. The other dogs asks what's the film like? 'Not as good as the book' replied the other dog.
