HAd a customer towed in this week, his clutch hydraulics had failed on his Wrangler. Master to slave is a one piece set up, he said fix it and give me a call when she's ready.
PArts available only Ex USA, $1100 ish...and a long wait..

Yeah I've got one booked in tommorrow, key won't release from ignition barrell and drains battery. You have to replace the whole steering column as locking mechanism is part of column. Same thing, parts ex-USA $1430 plus labour.
There is never an easy job on a Jeep.
Just Empty Every Pocket.

My mate's one: park-neutral switch

it's a switch FFS......... $700

Can't believe that clutch master to slave being one peice when everyone else uses a hose and cheap slave cylinder... why don't they just do normal?

Because they are not normal, most Jeeps and Chyslers are mash ups of old Mercs and any other parts they can get hold of.

I worked for them for a while, "factory rust" was a term used regulary

Cause they are American, Same reason they use feet and inches still.

How did you order it re freight, bloody slow one hump camel swiming
Never had a problem getting any Jeep parts ex USA. 7-10 days, unless its a rather large item. Cant rate them high enough in my book. Jeeps are not over priced, like some of the other junk sold here in Aus, and parts ex USA reasonable. Parts price here local stockist.... well thats another story

They cant sell them for any more because people wont buy them.

Just done 4000Km towing the trailer to the NW and back.
Averaged 12.8 Ltr/100, towing at "slightly" above the speed limit.
Very happy with my Jeep.

I've got 100 series cruiser and love it but... Had a brake fluid leak at the master cylinder, was told it was a seal in the ABS module on the side, turns out Toyota sell the ABS and master cylinder as one piece, over 3 F'n grand I could find them in USA for about 2 grand, was tossing around importing one myself but thought I'd have a look at leak first, long story short it was the seals between the plastic fluid tank and the alloy body and luckily easily fixed. Sooooo $1,000 for a Jeep master cylinder is cheap now days

I ran into one pulling a 22' job here at work, getting Vans air con done. Reckoned he had two laps round the block up already (2008 model) and it was still running strong, no issues.

The new diesels in the grand cherokee are very good. Couldn't find many bad reviews of them. The parts may be overpriced but the price of the cars themselves is very reasonable if you compare with other SUV's comparative spec.

Had the same problem (after 220.000km) on my wrangler, bought it from the guy in Bayswater? I think selling generic american car parts for $150 of the shelf. Worst a try!

You can see that still at Kwinana shops. Just they do it with holdens. (usually not theirs)

The one thing I do like about the new jeeps is the digital dashes.
