My name is Jason,

Skateboarding Is my primary board sport at the moment. Followed by snow, then wake.

When I can find some spare time one of my passions is making high performance electric skateboards in my garage.

I have a 18 month old boy so he gets most of my attention lately. I do take him for rides on my skateboards though! he loves it!

These bad boys can easily do up to about 45km/h and climb steep hills.

After years of lurking here you can see this is my first post, the reason I am posting is to spread the word about a new forum I created specifically for people to learn how to make their own electric skateboards at home. Most of the "off the shelf" stuff is pretty lame. Mostly due to speed and torque limitations.

I always get mixed reviews when I show people my creations, many die-hard-skaters can get really defensive about skateboarding and ridicule the concept of installing motors onto something which works perfectly well without them. Is that you? if that is you don't follow the link!

I think there are two types of people in this world...
1. people who HATE electric skateboards...
2. people who DON'T HATE.

So hopefully we can get some more people interested in making there own eboards at home.

Sorry mate didn't mean to step on anyone's toes.

Anyway thanks for the heads up about forum etiquette, before I post again on seabreeze.com ill search for someone else thread and post into that one instead of creating a new thread specifically relating to my topic of discussion.

I suppose every forum has there own rules, In most forums I frequent its frowned upon to hijack someone else's thread with a new topic. Especially a topic that was started 18 months ago.

Sometimes an electric skateboard goes whizzing past me on the cycleway and I'm always jealous.

I would love to get one but since I'm way too old to use one, all I can do is look and be jealous.

Also, I love your boards and think they look real swish.

I see 'leccy boards on the pathways and being carried on the trains too,

jeez, if I didn't bounce so badly I would be nicking my sons neglected longboard and bolting go-faster bits to it real quick

Interesting first post. Although not a skate boarder I have had the pleasure in modding a few for customers. I say pleasure as I love watching them squeeze the throttle with 60volts under them and seeing them face plant instantly and when they overtake a car with ease doing 80+ km's.

Nice looking boards you have made. I do hope it works out well for you.
Key points *run time *speed *charge time (single or multi charger) and how much can it tow.

Need to up your speed onloop.
My now 2 1/2 yr old is now on version 2. This yellow puppy easily gets over 40 runs on 22volts, last a little over 2hrs and is dual use rc or manual.
A little scared to let him drive manual or tap it out whilst he is in it. Using Turnigy batts, Hpi baja servo, dewalt drill motor and a few 3d printed parts. Down my street with my fat arse in it I can still drift it once up to about 20 or so. And I also built it including purchase of car for under $400.

Up your game onloop we want speed.

its an F1 car for kids.... please tell me where i can buy one... maybe you need to add a roll cage...

@youngbull ^^ Be aware kids up the the age of 6 or 7 have tunnel vision, literally, so they are completely unaware of things approaching from the sides, which might be bikes, big dogs,.. or people on electric skateboards.

They only see things directly in front of them. That's why they have a habit of running out in front of cars.
