Think we discussed this recently , 16/8 diet. I eat between 11am and 7pm lunch and dinner. Lost heaps of weight and blood pressure dropped
to normal.

Yep, skip breakfast a few days a week....great way to regularly get your body to burn fat. Most important meal of the day....BLAH to that.....most important meal of the day if you want to get fat.

This stuff about eating small meals all day to maintain constant blood sugar......like the guy says...that equates to constant weight gain for many....just look at our society for the evidence.

My mates female neighbour who is around the 150 kg mark has been getting daily uber deliveries.

A fine way to spend the additional 550 a fortnight

I guess she is going to go out happy.

Most important meal of the day (breakfast) was coined by Kellogs.

Coffee for breaky and that is the most important meal of the day. Used to be with a ciggy, but been on a diet for 20 years!

^^^^ I used to run all morning on that diet.

Alot of the days I would start with ciggie, ice coffee,. Was amazing. Power through a surf no dramas, plenty of fuel.
Same though, been on the diet for about 7 years, still enjoy the occasional one for dessert along with 10 beers. :)

Other than that I don't eat at conventional times, if I'm hungry I eat, if not, I don't. Treat food as fuel and don't eat for taste.

Is that true? I'm never really hungry in the morning so I don't eat breakfast, but I've had this nagging feeling that I was doing something wrong all these years skipping "the most important meal of the day", and that one day all this would be my undoing.

Now it's a fad diet

It's the absolute truth, Kellogs needed a slogan many years ago to sell their breakfast cereal and came up with "The Most Important meal of the day and of course they were selling Kelloggs corn flakes.

And Corn Flakes were developed to be bland, inspired by graham crackers as Kellogg believed that spicy or sweet foods would increase passions i.e. make you horny

Well if you skip breakfast and go for a long ride you end up bonking so I guess Mr Kellogg was wrong.

Bonking makes me hungry and too tired to ride a bike as I feel like I've already hit the wall.

I think it really depends on your body type and how you respond to training; there's too many variables. How your body handles or is accustomed to different types of foods, your physical demand on your body, body type etc. for example, it takes me significant work and focus to keep weight on. I'm healthy at 80kg, but to maintain 80kg I've got to force food in. My body is not strong, I'm naturally lean. Other people I know blow out kg easily, but they are naturally much stronger than me. We are all built differently. What suits one does not suit others.

Same here. I cannot get above 80kg. I've tried for many years.

Does a morning coffee after a surf or paddle break the 11am to 7pm set up ?

Not the coffee, but the sugar people usually have with the coffee does.

Black coffee is ok. Using stevia sweetener is ok, though some people disagree. Also 'bullet proof coffee' is ok, but it taste terrible. Some extreme fasters believe even a sip of water breaks a fast, so there is no consistent point of view.
