How do you know if HMR is really HMR?

Given the crazy amount of interesting topics here I thought I would ask a question someone may actually know the answer to.

I bought some HMR particle board (high moisture resistant?) from the big green shed place, and I am not quite sure it's actually HMR. It was in the pile that said 'HMR' but the cynical me thinks it looked exactly the same as the non HMR pile of 16mm particle board. How would I know if the Bunnings people stacked it in the right place.

So, how would you tell? Already it seems to swell a little bit from just a tiny amount of water on it, probably more than the 12mm non HMR stuff I had, which is weird.

I think I would prefer to find a supplier in Perth that has this that is not Bunnings, just to give me a bit more confidence. Anyone in Perth know where to buy this stuff from other than Bunnings?

Oh yeah, how bout those crypto and conspiracy things?

I was watching a bit of Dancing with Wolves tonight.

It must come close to being one of the worst movies ever made.

Should be colour coded, like they spraypaint a line down the edge of the whole stack at the factory so find what the code should be...?

Alternate suppliers - GBI (Gibson Benness Industries) and if not them, they will know....

maybe Midland Timber? I got weather boards from them that Bunnings did not stock... give them a ring to check if you don't live nearby

Thanks guys. I expected this stuff to be dyed green, but nope, its just the same as the regular chipboard, which makes me think that maybe it is the regular chipboard. Not something I really want to risk with a ktichen benchtop though.

I wonder if Bunnings have just gotten the cheapest stuff they could, with no markings, or if it isn't what it is supposed to be? I can't find any reference to HMR particle boards at Bunnings anymore, but I would be happier with a supplier that has it marked in someway.

Cheers..

The yellow tongue chip board flooring Bunnings sells is pretty water resistant. Used some for temporary decking. Thought it might last a few weeks till I got around to doing some proper decking and a roof . A year later, in the east coast rain, it was bleached but still OK.

WTF are you trying to do ?

Build a board from six10 and HMR laminate ?

Look, performance-wise it probably doesn't matter if you use HMR or normal particle board.

So long as you get the thrusters in to 0.01 degree accuracy and add some scoop rocker she'll be good to go.

Gotta add that new hook rail style. I haven't ridden one yet but WOW! They look so steady on water.

Carantoc replied to my thread? I should feel honored! I still can't seem to see his posts though, so something must be wrong. I wonder if Larry could help?
