Hey all, I just found this forum. I am coming down under for a solo trip, 5 weeks so I thought I would post up here.. Starting/ending in Sydney, gonna grab a 1 way I think to Cairns and work my way back down the coast. I friends in Newcastle that I will be visiting eventually, no set plans, just winging it. Looking forward to this! I am a much better snow skier/boarder than surfer but I like to get out there on easier breaks and putz around occasionally. I have diving license as well. Advice, always welcome, hit me up! :)

NAPLAN springs to mind ...... let's test this.
This is Australia not the USA so why did you say you were from the USA?

That said, i would say since its summer and lacks any snow anywhere in the southern hemisphere except the Andes (those are in South America not SA)

THIS GUY WOULD LOVE TO GO TO WOLLONGONG BEACHES (their tails and noses would wag together "il perfecto") !!!!!

"Wollongong" is the opposite direction to Newcastle , Both Newcastle or Wollongong you can travel an inter-city train from Central station (Sydney) to them and are both around the same distance from Sydney.

Wollongong would be il perfecto for you !!!

I don't think you would want to bother with Cairns or Newcastle or Sydney , they are tricky.
Wollongong would be perfect , you would be shoulder to shoulder with them their !

If you are going to bring weed, make sure you pack your boogie board bag full to the brim with the stuff. No one will ever suspect a thing.

Make sure your trip to Cairns is in our winter, I.e. June/July/August. Otherwise you are missing out. It will be hot, humid, and rainy if you go up there in our summer. Spend the summer to the south in Sydney, and winter in Cairns, unless you want a ski trip every now and then.

Half of the above is "Pulling your pisser!!"

Half of everything that is said in Australia is "Pulling somebody's Pisser". It is a National Sport.

When you are here speaking with an American accent, do not believe a word of anything an Australian says to you because they will be "Pulling your Pisser!!"

LOL - I know lots of Aussies and they are funny MoFo's and this crowd is apparently no exception. About time Aus got on the legalize weed bandwagon, but that's your vote.. And the "Shrimp on the Bsrbie" thing actually came from your Australian Tourist Commission

And if you want to drink Fosters...you'll need to bring some with you. Contrary to what your TV ads tell you no-one over here drinks it. I don't even know anywhere that sells it.

No different to drinking your own urine. Mahatma Gandhi highly recommends Fosters
