The increase in GWS's is a good thing, its helping to cull the overwhelming increase in new surfers. When ever I accidently catch a juvenile GWS when fishing, I always very carefully remove the hook and gently release it to make sure it survives so it can for fill its purpose in the food chain.

Great whites take 25 years to grow to three metres, at three metres they have the jaw strength to tackle mammals, seals, humans etc etc....

This is how long they have been protected for.... they also live for a veeery long time some say a couple hundred years or more.
the real big behemoths would remember the whaling ships and have some fear of man still, anything between 2.5-3.5 metres has no fear of man.
They actually like man and we have trained them like this, we put people in cages and burley up so they know a boat motor means food, than we taunt them with the food and feed them once they ran the cage a few times, good on us we are so smart.......

The shark swims away rewarded and yet annoyed it couldn't get through the cage, next time it sees a cage less human it eats them ,, as last time it showed that behaviour it was rewarded...
this is why they like boats so much now too

Back in the day sailors would throw money over the side to pay Neptune for fair weather and not be attacked by sea monsters(megladon).

Maybe. I can't afford to be throwing thousands of dollars of the side though... I think these days people would be throwing money over after they have smashed a couple beers. I don't want Neptune to think I'm low-balling him with $2, he might just make me sail off the edge of the world.

find a link that says how long great whites live for doesn't exist they live for a hundred years minimum and a couple hundred possibly,

remember when you were a kid and ran a stick down the neighbours fence who had a big mean barking dog, that's what shark cage divers do except next time there's no cage.

history of recent attacks also illustrates that people are eaten , not just bitten,,,, big difference...

the guy guy who got bitten and eaten at Abrolhos had just pulled up and jumped off the shark heard motors and was following/waiting for food

albany whaling station only closed recently 50-70 years ago the sharks that followed those whales in are still alive now

Good link hilly, I posted one above from Nat geo and they reckon 100. There is a great white off Jurien the locals call Gilbert ( don't know how it got its name ) but it's big fin is all busted up and has a big cut mark through the top off it.

when I was 17 and fished up there me mates grandad who was well into his 80,s would talk about how his dad talked about Gilbert when he was a kid, his old man was long gone but if he was alive would of been 140 or so he started fishing at 15-16 and had me mates grandad pretty young mid twenties, When I left town it still would get seen and I was in my mid twenties ,, I know the lads up there still see it now and than so this places the shark at well over 100 years old quite easily 120 or 130 and no doubt it was near fully grown to have the fin markings recognisable 80-100 years ago..
nat geo reckons there is a deep see Atlantic shark they did testing on proving it to be over 250 years old

You should read a book written by an Actual survivor in the Indi, not just someone wanting to glorify the story. The sharks mostly only ever attacked the people who were dead or heavily injured. Most of the people were already dead, not many survived the actual bombing, sinking and subsequent fire. Sounds terrible, but pales into significance as to the weapon the Indi had just delivered to humanity..

Firstly I said some people believe they live up to a couple hundred years, ( which I do)
secondly I said easy a hundred years possibly two hundred, scientists fishermen and real marine biologists agree with this. They live to 100 regularly and if you had studied at uni instead of smoking cones and chasing skirt not only would you likely be employed but you would also have an education.

Give me a break, ( not give me a brake my dear university educated iq of a tic tac dear friend)
