If you are going to copy, copy right.

Flatty floated the idea of covers better than the originals. Can't say I'm a fan of copying anything... so with the aim of hitting our middle ground this fine Friday, how about songs that in one way or another have the original artist(s) involved as a sign of approval. AND have musical legends combining to take the original track to a new, highly agreeable place.

"It is the long history of humankind (and animal kind, too) that those who learned to collaborate and improvise most effectively have prevailed." - Charles Darwin

Not really a Friday song but it hits the brief so well.

Well Lorgra gets one out of four correct. Was the question too hard?

" one way or another have the original artist(s) involved as a sign of approval. AND have musical legends combining"

(Not that it really matters)

According to Vince Gill he once got the nod from Eric Clapton. that sorta counts.

Seems it was more than a nod. It was at the Crossroads Guitar festival organised by Eric Clapton. Invite only! Here's JJ at the festival giving Eric the nod to do a bit in his original. (Maybe follow this one up as a theme a theme for next week Brent?)
