hello,
i currently own a 2012 MN triton gl-r 4x4 and have noticed it is quite poor on fuel. im getting about 17L/100km even on longer trips. Ive only got a Light bullbar installed and no heavy accessories.ive read they should be getting around 9.9L/100km.Anyone suggest a reason for this or any tips to improve?
Thanks
,Dylan

It's the wind drag from all the unnecessary rectangles surrounding it.

I had a ML Triton for 250 000 ks and it averaged less than 12 L/100k and that was with chip, bull bar, spotties, lift and bigger tires.

Has it done it since new or is it a recent issue?

Assuming that it has been regularly serviced correctly, I would be having a look at the inlet manifold as they tend to carbon up due to the EGR.

I had to remove mine twice to clean it until I put some electronic trickery in the wiring harness.

Sheesh. I had a 1992, 4 litre, quad cam, V8 Toyota Soarer, and it averaged, I kid you not, 7l/100km.

To be fair they were 100% highway kilometres; soaring at 110 and 1,300 rpm.
