Around 10 pm eat a veggie pizza------ that is half an hour old. It doesn't look to be very fresh when I open it.

get home around 12pm -------- feel ok.

Sitting on the chair I turn a bit and feel a little dizzy.

Another half hour passes and I get up to get a drink of water.

I bump into the wall on the way to the fridge! Wow,I'm starting to feel sick.

manage to take a few sips then it really hits hard,as in real, real hard!

I get on all fours and crawl to the outside balcony.

Im feeling like death is possible.

Around 50m away there is another apartment with half a dozen or so chatting on their balcony.

I call out for help after a few minutes of moaning in pain.

Two girls come across and give me some water.

Feeling a bit cold, they put a jacket over me.

They return and no longer sit on their balcony. I'm making a lot of noise!!

Manage to make it to bed and feel slightly better.

I get up,not sure why and sit on the outside stairs.

I start vomiting bad. My pizza is coming up. Notice possibly a little blood too.

My downstairs neighbour is a bit pissed off with all the noise!

He gives me a 2l bootle of water and asks me if i need a ambulance.

Thinking of the cost----- I say no.

They turn up anyway half an hour later.

Im in bed again, they come in and I tell them I'm ok.

I get up to go to the outside stairs as they leave and I start vomiting again.

I assure them I'm ok!

Police come another half hour later and I assure them I'm ok.

After second round of vomiting I definitely start to feel better but still like death.

Go to bed ad wake up around 12 pm.

Still feel a little unbalanced. No sailing today!

Going to report the pizza joint to the food safety body.

No more eating take-away pizza for me ---- never, ever again after that experience.

Few years back, I knew a 65 year old hairdresser from Vic Park. He went to Thailand for a holiday and never returned.

Died of food poisoning.

If you are serious about reporting the pizza shop, you will need to have medical tests done - hindsight isn't much help - but you should have gone with the Ambo's.

Head off to your doctors ASAP, and be prepared to poo in a jar and maybe have blood tests.

If any of the pizza [and its box] is left, your local council health inspector will need them for testing too.

You will also need to supply a list of what and where you have dined for the last few weeks.

Food poisoning can have up to 10 days incubation - so there is a chance it wasn't the pizza.

Here's hoping you recover quick!

=====================

you should have ordered the meatatarian pizza with the optional double bacon and anchovies, you would have been fine

I cant believe you got that many people involved straight away, man up & im glad you're not my neighbour. Grab lots of water & ride it out like a cyclone.

Wtf is a vegetarian pizza

But yeah you have to be a bit careful, there was also those 2 girls that died in bali a few years back.

I had some bad calamari once, the rest of it i could put up with, it reminds you you're alive but the taste of calamari coming back up will haunt me forever.

I had food poisoning once. In Hong Kong. I lived there for a while and one Saturday night we went to a buffet dinner for a celebration of some sort, I can't remember. The buffet included seafood and included oysters. I love raw oysters but only Sydney Rock oysters. These were not but some other bigger type. I ate them anyway. That evening I had a coffee, something I normally don't drink especially late at night.

I could not sleep because of the coffee so stayed up once I got back to my flat. Around 3am I felt sick. I started vomiting and had a bad case of diarrhoea for the next 18 hours. It was awful and an absolute misery. Lucky there were bars on the windows otherwise I might have been tempted to throw myself out of my twelfth floor flat and end the pain.

I let the poisoning run its course. My fianc?e also suffered. It came up a bit later for her but she had to go to work on the Monday. So she saw a doctor who gave her an injection to stop the symptoms. She was sick for much of the next week and I was pretty well right by Monday evening. It took a while to recover though.

Gee Macpweet,.. sorry to hear that. Not a very nice way to end the year. Specially for the neighbours.

Did you check the label for aspartame? MSG? BPA's?

I should point out that the most common cause of food poisoning is not washing hands, specially for food that you eat with your hands, and specially from oily food which you eat with your hands,.... like say,.. pizza for instance.

The oil in the pizza base is an ideal germ transportation medium from grubby hands straight into the mouth.
Not that this could have had any relevance to your case of course because I'm sure with all your conscientious observation of health risks, you would have scrubbed your hands within an inch of their lives prior to eating anything.

But then maybe that last minute dash to the toilet, or the inadvertent scratching of the ass or nuts prior to eating the pizza may have had some bearing on the event.

Anyway,. macpweet,.. get well soon.

I had Rotavirus two years ago, and it was very similar to what you described - very scary. I went for a sail and stopped by a Bakery for some breaky in the early morning (which is where I believe I got the virus). I was lucky to have my attack after a got home. I have never been so violently ill in my life. I lost of appetite for days. In the end I had to force myself to eat as I was losing weight fast. Best of luck dude

I have to thank the neighbour immediately opposite to me for cleaning up the considerable mess on the stairs.

When you get that severely ill---- what I've found is you need somebody there for love---- and it doesn't matter who!

What cost? Annual subscription is very cheap insurance for times when they are needed.

Glad you're feeling better all the same - food poisoning is not a fun time.

Funny you say that cause my neighbour when I went out the door at 6.30 tonight said the same

She had her door open so I was going to take the opportunity to thank her for cleaning the mess up.

She got in before me though!

Saying i knocked on her door at 5.30 in the morning and complained about the noise in general.

When I told her I was suffering from food poisoning and just wanted some help she said BS.

And added,if it happens again you will ... the next time!

Seemingly I'm the neighbour from hell......despite being generally as quite as a mouse.

Perhaps its her menopause kicking in,she is at that age

Ahhh Macpweet,.. another gem.
That's why we all love you so much.
Such insight,.. such finely tuned perception. and .

Keep in mind that a few hours earlier, you were gobbing your lollies all over her stairs, and then SHE had the choicest of choice jobs, of cleaning it up.
And all this was probably against a background of you, lecturing her 'til her ears were bleeding, about all the stuff 'they' put in our food to make us sick.
Not that she gets sick and throws up on your stairs of course. She eats everything and never gets sick or throws up on your stairs, but hey, just a minor detail.

I got very bad food poisoning about 10 years ago from eating seafood when staying in korea.
Just on the last night before we were gonna make our way to bali.
The bathroom was in such a terribble mess, i still feel sorry for the hotel's stuff. when we were checking out they didn't know what's in there, otherewise they would kill me and that would be relief for me.
I was so weak, dayzed and confused coudn't remember how we got to bali. Wife told me she was carrying me on her shoulders from plane to plane. We had 2 stop overs !
About 2 days later when started recognizing things around myself, wife i asked me what i felt like to eat. I asked for pizza "margherita" (you know, its got minimum ingredients).
Has enyone been food poisoned badly twice ? I have got a feeling that i won't pull through a second time if this happens.
Or does human body actually learn and knows how to fhight better next time ?

there'd be more toxins in a pizza than in tap water or the sky

been there myself with seafood but took about 4 hours to kick in and was from both ends. lucky the bath is next to the loo in the man cave.

I got really bad food poisoning when I was young from what I think was a bad fish finger. But I have never eaten another one ever again or cauliflower just in case because it was on the plate .
Was in the ute with dad & my brother when he came down with it & he projectile vomited so hard it moved the rear view mirror & then bounced off windscreen covering everything in front of ute with spew including me & dad . It was like a fire hose of spew comming out of his mouth .Drove home & had to hose out ute & ourselves down it was the most disgusting thing thats ever happened to me. But we have had plenty of good laughs about it since .

Yea I copped it from a egg and bacon burger once ( kicked in about 4 hrs later )
Second lot came from fish. That lasted over a week and had me blasting from both ends. Distant memories now thankfully

Pizza seems to be a common culprit, late one night there was one slice left under the heat lap in a shop, it was ham and pineapple. I sat talking for about 20 minutes after eating it and started walking, got about 50 feet and shuffled back in a hurry to the bathroom where 5hit shot out of my ass like stucco spray but I was all better in 30 minutes, it just needed to get out ASAP

Hate that feeling of having a tumble dryer in your stomach as you wait for it to slowly work it's way through your system.
