You needed to scroll down a bit, they're $15,950.00. Bit out of most people's reach.
And you need a $5000.00 deposit..

reakon this might be the future.. and it does look fun. but who needs a wave when you're already zooming along. it will probably open up a whole heap of new spots. ride some boat wakes in the marina, who knows, it could be a good thing.... Just gotta wait 10 years for them to become affordable.

They look incredible and that technology will only get better.

It doesn't have the natural thrill! I had a jet ski to do tow in and you have to use them regularly to improve skills but after couple of years sold it.

Saying that if I won lotto it would be great when it light to mod onshore when it's not windy enough to windsurf short board and any surf is dribble.

Isn't that about the average amount invested in sailing gear by most people here. (Before you add on the custom fitted van.)

Quite possibly, over a period of time. Can't say I've walked into a shop with 15k in my pocket though.

Would be fun on the no wind days, give it a couple of years and they will be just a fin mod for your foil and only cost $500. Bring it on.

25 km for an 85kg rider on a single charge. That's impressive.

In my opinion about 4-5k too expensive.
I imagine the sales and marketing team have done some pricing research to maximise profits ... but i would imagine they would sell a heap more with a sub 11or 10k price point.

more on the water = more exposure = more sales.

im in Melb kite at least a few times a week ( so at the beach a fair bit ) and have never seen one other than on the interweb

Like a lot of powered toys....would be great fun to try, but in the end won't hold your attention for the same longevity as sailing. skiing, surfing, etc. I'd hire one for a couple of hours if I could.

Yep I agree with the hiring it thing, I hired a jet ski once as I was thinking about purchasing one for windless days, returned it before the time was up and never been back on one again.

I can only imagine how many segways, hover boards, powered skate boards, not mention drones there are sitting with flat batteries never to be used again.

More things at a cheaper price doesnt always mean more sales - in fact in the longer term, it means the opposite. Companies like Uber and Netflix run or have been running at a loss but are for the bigger picture so not always about immediate profit. Yes, the price could be reduced if made out of cheaper materials, but that would affect the end experience, and then no one would want one. Also importantly safety and desirability. Having a cheaper battery for example could mean a super yacht burning down which means the end of a business. With Fliteboard there's been 2-3 years of development and refining before rushing to market with a second rate option. Fliteboard for example invested in a unibody efoil and gearbox, compared to others. This means with less drag, more reliability, more stability, much like ducati and trelis frame. You can currently hire fliteboard in Australia at a few places Sunshine Coast Board Sports, Fliteschool Noosa, NZ at Nelson Bay and Porirua. Overseas Spain a heap of spots, Italy, France, Sweden. There is always a spot for surfing and its not to replace that. But you'll see life long waterman, surfers etc Kai Lenny, Tom Carroll, Robbie Nash, Laird, Chuck Paterson, Keahi not looking back. efoils only open it up even more with longer rides, further away from people. It can be as technical or passive as you want with a greater range of things to learn in wider conditions. Sailing itself it heading this way with the Moths, Americas cup etc. Foiling isnt for everyone but efoils certainly way easier to access than any other.
