Earth Overshoot Day is the day of each year that our consumption of natural resources exceeds the Earth's capacity to renew and regenerate.

This year, it was the earliest ever - August 1.

It's a sad reality that most people seem to be more worried about paying less for their resources so they can afford to consume more

We could celebrate the overshot day for a few million years already.Exactly when first human stand up on planet Earth it was sure that he will consume all available resources.Eat all mammoths, dinosaurs, Moa, now fish and coal, Amazon forest, oxygen in the air - everything will be exhausted.
Fortunately, humans always found others thing to explore/ exloit once another finished. Obviosly scaremogers already complain we are running out of the water.I wouldbe really worry if we run out the of sand on Earth.

Running out of sand is no laughing matter.

Illegal sand mining for concrete is a serious issue in India.

no one cares anymore, and they won't until the energy supply disrupts their consumption, turns their cars and aircon into scrap and requires them to fight their neighbours for food

ps. Can only use sand as long as you have the cheap horsepower needed to turn it into apartments with a huge negative energy return on investment and an enormous infrastructure replacement cost
