I should have caught onto it years ago, but last winter I realised that putting the wetsuit through a spin cycle in the washing machine works well. Does anybody else do it? And if you're married to someone who does ludicrous things like sorting washing before putting it in, does it cause friction?

I find it best to do when the wife isn't around, even though I paid for the washing machine.

Because wives have a degree in washing machine use and you've come up with a simple solution which works better.

I put my wet rashie in the microwave for twenty seconds in winter it works and is nice and warm when you put it on but does destroy the stitching after 6 months. I don't care it's worth it

every month or two I wash my wetsuit in a tub with a cap of dettol and washing up liquid

stops the stink and get less underarm rash etc etc

if I put it in the washing machine I'd get shot

Yes.
To a woman
Its not like I'm dragging mud through the house . Or leaving **** everywhere .
Its only a teeny spin cycle .

Ill try , and see what happens .

I tried it a few times. It doesn't work on thick winter wetsuits or booties. It gets the water off the outside but water stays trapped on the inside in the folds of the suit.

My preferred method for my 6mm winter suit is to hang the suit overnight to allow the excess water to drip off, then hang it over a heating duct in the morning. That gets it totally dry in about an hour.

If you're going to spin wetties then make sure the wetsuit is well secured inside the tub. If it touches the edge while it's spinning it will rub a hole in it.

**** do you guys wash wetties?? Have 2 a morning and arvo suit. Just hang them up outside. Put it next to fire in winter to be ready for the dawny. Fairly sure salt water not good for washing machines.

Warm cycle on the clothes dryer followed by ironing it on the hottest possible setting.
