I am a windsurfer but know a lot of the kiters.
Living in Burringbar too. Theres a good crowd that kite from Brunswick heads in front of the surf club. Just make sure you kite not near the flags as theres been a few incidents and the local cubbies don't like the kiters much, but if you kite outside the flags they are fine.

Also theres a web cam there so you can check out the surf etc and not as rippy as Wooyung.
