Almost all mass shooting were performed by males.
In the age of gender equality, women are completely underreported.We may have proportional input by races, black white or yellow are evenly capable.Age is also not a factor, young or old could both shoot straight.But definitely, women are missing on mass shooting statistics.Maybe in such case privilege/duty of carrying weapons been reserved for females only?

Unfortunately with the American political system being (can I say corrupt?) run by lobbyists, the NRA being all mighty, weapon manufacturing a huge industry and people as Adriano so rightly put being stoopid in their love of their boom sticks, I realistically don't see any other way around the situation.

Gun manufacturers and gun shops love a massacre as they have a huge up turn in business after one just go watch the stock market.

We had the tosser at Port Author, which brought in some good changes to our gun laws which unfortunately are already getting watered down here, so what hope have the Seppo's got when they have their fixation.

The reality is the second amendment will never be repealed.

So realistically there is only one real solution is to arm everyone, train everyone.

That way when Mr Small Dick with a hate on for everybody, comes out seeing how many people they can take with them when they suicide some might have a chance to fight back.

Perhaps if this was ever put on the table the American public would finally get of the Arses and do something about it, but I recon the pollies would just take their (bribes) political donations and pass the bill.

You can never stop the nut job with an illegally gained automatic weapon who plans and then performs a totally premeditated act from a Las Vegas hotel room, but you can hopefully stop "Joe Average" from acting quickly out of anger and passion.

Making it inappropriate for the "average" American to have assault rifles seems like common sense here in our relatively safe first world country of 23 million people. But, i just don't know how it'll ever fly in the land of apple pie now with 200+ million people and a lot of them very desperate to survive. I was hoping the unique circumstances of trump might have helped with gun control.

Unfortunately they're past the point of these shootings being tragedies, they're fast just becoming another statistic.

What the USA needs to ask is why has the media not addressed the petition from the psychs who work with these deranged dickheads, that says much of their motivation is to be famous and have the highest body count etc....... and the psychs implored the media to stop reporting it 24hrs a day for a week after the shooting. Those who understand the motivators have asked the media to stop - but they won't.

The first school shooter was a girl, they even wrote a rather popular song about her.

Somehow every Jewish school here in Melbourne has the armed security guards, which doesn't make sense to me, but surely it would make hell lot of sense if they did something similar in US... just tax a "school security levy" the guns manufacturers and sellers for the public schools funding and the rich moms and pops for the privates... that's some solution at least over all those gun control debates which is waste of time.

I know what your stance is on this whole gun issue in the states but I think you are in error with regard to gun laws there.

From my perspective the issue is not the weaponry. It is a social issue. Is it not true that the Swiss are pretty much number one when it comes to percentage of population armed? So why do we not hear of the Swiss running amuck? I know for a fact that there was a time in South Africa when pub fights were unheard of. People were not prepared to take the risk of using violence for fear of retaliation being taken by firearm. It is possible to have a highly armed population without the sad statistics witnessed in the States.

The solution lies in education. Pretty much an impossible task with yanks because they have been indoctrinated in violence from day one through Hollywood so you would be working in opposition to the film makers, the television companies and the computer games producers. However there are plenty of examples from around the world where violence is not socially acceptable and where it is not an issue.

We have a similar issue over here in Australia with alcohol abuse. Because it accepted to the degree where people are inclined to ask you why you don't drink as opposed to why you do the negative factors which come with alcohol usage get swept under the carpet. And yet they are a huge issue.

It happens all the time with social issues which run contrary to commercial concerns. The easy "solution" is to make laws but the solution is rarely effective.

And something else which rarely seems to surface when this issue is discussed is the fact that the American administration is responsible for far and away the largest amount of fire arms related violence. Their coppers and their armed forces have put paid to the lives of well over two million people since the turn of the century. How the f^ck do you reconcile that in the debate?

Be exponentially greater than that if you included deaths from their weapons industry.

America is the sickening manifestation of the dysfunctional collective human mind which all countries share, but it's amplified in the latest super power who came into full power with the advent of the rate of change of technological advancement increasing exponentially.

They are not alone... but they have the money, power and leverage to unleash this self infatuated pathological mind we all share and the whole world sees it to.

As with all collective insane super powers, we are starting to see the beginning of the end, as the snake eats its own tail.

There is no solution. The thinking that created the madness we see (gun shootings are just one manifestation), cannot be used to solve it. They will just create more madness.
