What must Australia's favourite old Dick think of this abomination of his once successful and iconic business?

I think he would be okay with it. He made his business successful, sold out to Woolies and then got on with his life.

If he had wanted to get back into electronics, he could have. He probably could have bought the DSE name back for not much when they went under, but Jaycar have taken that niche and there is also Altronics as a backup. Its not the growth industry it might have been ages ago.

Mind you, I think Jaycar are doing well to position themselves for current consumers and seem to be thriving.

I'd like Dick Smith to run our country .

It's now a Kogan brand. The bought the DSE brand & intellectual property from the DSE administrators.

^^^ Yes, it's an identical copy of the Kogan website, nothing to do with the old Dick Smith at all, except for having the name at the top of the page. Branding is an odd thing.
