Has anyone had experience with small dent repairs for cars, any comments appreciated?

Dont banh heavily with a hard hammer it stretches the metal and you'll have a lump insted of the dent.
Can you get to the back of it easily? if you can get something heavy against the concave side, and hit the convex side with a rubber hammer, it may come out clean.
If you can't get to the back of it, you can usea puller, ineffect a big self tapper welded to a rod that has a trapped weight sliding up and down the rod. drill a hole in the middle of the dent screw in puller and bang the weight against the end stop.

The hole will then need filling, so don't pull the dent right out, leave a bit of room for bog.
The easiest way is just to bog it.

Decrepit is spot on do what he stated and also you can use a spair tablet or phone with an image of uniformEd straight black and white lines on it to show the damage to insurers etc

[Load up a photo of a barcode on ya phone and hold it over the dent and take a photo of said dent and phone and it's reflection to convey a clearer idea of the damage

depends how small and where

can stretch it out with dry ice if it's shallow on the flat

on a corner, no way

in white easy, on black welll very different.

there is a big wide spectrum from easy to bloody hard

I've used heat to expand, but never thought of cold to shrink. That puts a whole new tool in the range.

My mate rebuilt the whole front corner panel of his cortina with auto bog and sprayed it up. It looked awesome till you got within 5 metres of it.
