Did China really regret leasing Hong Kong out? I doubt it. It was quite a success and was pretty much nothing before it was run by the British. Why would they regret that? Of course they wanted it back once it became successful, but that's different.

But that's my point exactly, might seem like a good idea at the time but 100 years proved otherwise. Are we making the same mistake and knowing the government and their lack of business acumen, they have most likely made a secret agreement which guarantees profits and all sorts of other stuff (a very bad deal in trumps words) that effectively hands over sovereignty.
