This one has had over 7.7 million views on da Choobe. How could it not?

And more recently played by Ex patriate Kiwi, now Aussie living on the Sunshine Coast, Kevin Borich.

Edit:- For the afficianados I guess we have to include Stevie ray Vaughn in the mix.

Here is Kevin again doing "Rolling and Tumbling" at the bombie.

The "bombie" was a demountable temporary building underneath the Storey Bridge that the owners of the Storey Bridge Hotel got away with using as the pub for about 10 years while the heritage listed original pub building went through the process of getting refurbished.

During that "temporary" period many great Australian artists wowed the crowd at the "bombie".

In this performance the base player, "Harry the Hand" does some purely amazing brushes.

Enjoy!!!

Yes, a little Google shows you're correct. I thought it was mentioned in a TV interview with Mark Latham some years back, but I must have the group mixed up with someone else.

Oh well, you win some, you lose some!

Borich's "express" with Tim Partridge and John Annas was the only incarnation for me. Borich slipped into "Aussie pub rock" Too easily where as the early material had a more progressive feel ........2 and a half stars

I would not say slipped, rather stepped.

"Aussie pub rock" is where the real social dialogue is.

Music certainly runs in the Borich family. Kevin's son Lucius doing a couple of awesome drum solos.

Lucius is also the drummer in COG. The band seems to be very interested in raising awareness of the New World Order agenda.

Their music is just great!!!

Lots of their vids on the Choobe both official and not.

Well, actually, it was quite amusing watching the labor party implode, yet again. Seems to have been a bit of a syndrome, at least since Gough the Magnificent.

Yeah, no. Pub rock, especially in Melbs was more of an outer suburban phenomenon,in the big beer barns that could hold 1000 punters. I reckon pub rock was a bigger force in NSW in the "clubs" and in country towns. In melbs at the time I think there was more of an alternative music culture that really shaped music right up till the... well now

I see what you mean. Never had the experience of the 1000 punter beer barns.

"Aussie Pub Rock" is not surviving too well in Bundaberg as the pubs don't like paying for musos and the musos only play covers. The audiences are not really supportive either.

On the theme of big hair bands, the video is embarrassing, but i always liked the guitar work/ chord structure and production of this one, particularly 1:50 onward

and later 80's

Spot on!!

"I 'm only tryinig to make it better etc etc." but the music tends to override the lyrics and makes it hard to get the message.

Here is a brain snapper blues band from the mid NSW coast (New Castle??) that goes by the name of Ghost Road.

I have a pirated copy of their album "Private Eyes" that I groove to regularly. Reason it is pirated is because I could not find a place to buy it and my friend loaned me his disc that I could slap down onto my HDD.

They have been recognised by JJJ and are featured on their Unearthed site deal.

These two drummers just do the job though don't they?? Unfortunately it cuts off a bit before the end.

Ya get that on the CHOOBE!!

Does anybody know if Ray Beadle is a member, current or formerly, of this band??

to the best of my knowledge no ray ,is not but i stand to be corrected....
ghost road is from lake cathie/bonny hills and the name is from the the road that goes from lake cathie (pronounced cat eye) back to the pacific highway called houston mitchell drive but known locally as the ghost road.... the band is a family affair and they actually live on a property off the ghost road....some of the nicest people you would ever meet, great muso's, good surfers and all round good blokes...if you get the chance they are one of the best blues bands going around....
this is their website if you want some more of their stuff
http://www.ghostroad.com.au/index.html
showing my age a bit cisco but i used to see the kevin borich express quite regularly in Newcastle in my youth (i was underage) at the bel air hotel which no longer exists.......and used to host a veritable smorgasbord of good bands ..Dv8 ...little charlie and the night cats...goldrush before they became the Emmanuel Bros..even cold chisel and the oils played there in the early days
still have a vinyl copy of dutch tilders and kev borich "the blues had a baby" and saw them when they played at newcastle Uni bar .. ( i think)..or it may have been another pub
on another note i have a copy of the hendrix "blue wild angel" DVD well worth a look .. unreal that that something over 40 years old is still relevant and what i would say original .....bit like me!! cheers....... keep em coming
still remember being a little disappointed when INXS played at the Ambassador nightclub in Newy and thinking they were poor little private school northshore
sydney boys.... and it cost me a whole 1$ for a schooner
bit young for the star hotel riot
