cisco said...Here is a brain snapper blues band from the mid NSW coast (New Castle??) that goes by the name of Ghost Road.
I have a pirated copy of their album "Private Eyes" that I groove to regularly. Reason it is pirated is because I could not find a place to buy it and my friend loaned me his disc that I could slap down onto my HDD.
They have been recognised by JJJ and are featured on their Unearthed site deal.
These two drummers just do the job though don't they?? Unfortunately it cuts off a bit before the end.
Ya get that on the CHOOBE!!

Does anybody know if Ray Beadle is a member, current or formerly, of this band??
to the best of my knowledge no ray ,is not but i stand to be corrected....
ghost road is from lake cathie/bonny hills and the name is from the the road that goes from lake cathie (pronounced cat eye) back to the pacific highway called houston mitchell drive but known locally as the ghost road.... the band is a family affair and they actually live on a property off the ghost road....some of the nicest people you would ever meet, great muso's, good surfers and all round good blokes...if you get the chance they are one of the best blues bands going around....
this is their website if you want some more of their stuff
http://www.ghostroad.com.au/index.htmlshowing my age a bit cisco but i used to see the kevin borich express quite regularly in Newcastle in my youth (i was underage) at the bel air hotel which no longer exists.......and used to host a veritable smorgasbord of good bands ..Dv8 ...little charlie and the night cats...goldrush before they became the Emmanuel Bros..even cold chisel and the oils played there in the early days
still have a vinyl copy of dutch tilders and kev borich "the blues had a baby" and saw them when they played at newcastle Uni bar .. ( i think)..or it may have been another pub
on another note i have a copy of the hendrix "blue wild angel" DVD well worth a look .. unreal that that something over 40 years old is still relevant and what i would say original .....bit like me!! cheers....... keep em coming
still remember being a little disappointed when INXS played at the Ambassador nightclub in Newy and thinking they were poor little private school northshore
sydney boys.... and it cost me a whole 1$ for a schooner
bit young for the star hotel riot
