Nice. I just picked up a dirt cheap 81 honda on the weekend. It will be my first ever project bike - thinking off-road bobber/brat style (no lights/rego and not worth the expense). Might work up to a quality cafe racer in time.

I'm more of the classic as a cafe racer,
Love the tone of a Ducati , nothing like it on the planet, foggy racing the Ducati in the super bikes used to make it sing, still a nice bike though

Went on a 2 day rally at Bunbury so the rear seat comes out, the bike goes in and I get a comfy bed to sleep in after dicing with the traffic and bumps on a 74 year old bike that has left throttle, right hand suicide shift and a foot operated clutch!!
Easy enough when you get used to it - but a bit of a handful in traffic...

These cafe racers are fully sick. I really want one. Alas, I'm the type of driver that makes a small mistake every year or two that means nothing in a car; clips a curb while turning or whatever.

Never seen a Royal Enfield with a rear mono shock before, is it an Enfield motor in another frame or custom cut frame of an old hard tail
Then I found this
www.royalenfield.com/in/en/motorcycles/himalayan/
Thought it might be a Himalayan but the geometry is very different

Mid life crisis isn't an event. It's a condition. It only goes away when you're old enough to call it old age crisis.

Nice old bike

Even in my 20s I've had a soft spot for the old bikes

I did a job once for a bloke in tarleton Lancashire
On the 1st day whilst getting power from the garage I could see a bike under a flannel sheet
With a fishtail pipe popping out
Pulling the sheet off it was a big matchless bike
So thought I'd try the bloke out for a job / bike trade, absolutely hassled the crap out of him for weeks, he always said no
Then one morning he was giving a polish , so I hit him up again,
He said mick , this bike has so many great memories I'll never sell it,
I used to pick the girls up and ride up to Blackpool, their hair would be wafting in my face, the smell of their perfume, they'd be holding me tight, I could feel their boobs on my back and their legs wrapped around me, I'd even get a glimpse of their thighs and stockings, and when I gave it some they'd get closer and tighter,
And when you see how ugly my missus is,
You'll understand why I need those memories,
He wasn't wrong

Wife said it ain't fair as she reckons I've had 3 midlife crisis,s
This is one I had 12 years ago living in the south of France, never hardly had a pot to piss in, but we would drive it down from bargemon in the mountains to the coast for a bite,
Used to turn heads wherever we went

Alfa spider, not a cafe racer but still a lovely bit of styling, and sounded great especially through the mountain roads at the gorges du verdon

Happy being an old fart,
With midlife crisis,s

For those interested the Vintage motorcycle show and car boot sale is on this Sunday at Cannington Greyhound .
Times are approx 9-12 , a few bucks to have a look .
Last years was a great spectacle and a few bargains in the paddock if your chasing bits and pieces.
