Who wastes money on buying water in a bottle when its pretty much free from a tap or waterfall

What is so good about bottled water?
And how bad is it to the environment?

It gives me a good plastic bottle to re-fill with water.

I keep one in my car and refill from any servo's tap when stop for a fuel. I like a "Voss" glass bottle for that purpose.
However the shell servos put up a "not drinkable water" sign on the taps not long ago.

However did we manage in the past I wonder

They should be banned if we are serious about plastics use

I know a guy who refuses to drink anything but bottled water, and judging by the people I see loading up their shopping trolleys with the stuff, he's not on his own. Maybe the bottle deposit needs to be $1.00 instead of $0.10, then you wouldn't see a single bottle make it to the bin.

I still refill my 2 bottles every day, even at Shell servo's.

I reckon their new signs are bulltish, how can the water be potable then all of a sudden been unsuitable for drinking?

I reckon they want us to "buy" water, well you know what, they can get f&cked coz I drink their undrinkable water and will continue to do so!

Then when I die I'm gonna sue their sorry arses, yeah that'll show 'em!

What's so good about it? It's available when I'm out of the house (drink tap water at home), it's ice cold and it's not Coke or some other sugar water.

Such is the people who religiously buying bottled water.

I have been to a bottling factory and seen that it was just bore water run through a carbon filter. Some plants just use mains water as feed stock.

Yet it's more expensive than petrol, how stupid are people.

Buy a decent water bottle, fill it at home and at work.

I remember being at TAFE in 1990
first time I saw bottled water being sold for $1and I thought WTF
I love coke so there was no way I'd pay for something I'd get for free

As far as I remember the first time I paid for water was in in Carnarvon on the way to Gnarloo
may have bought it in Geraldton also know that I think about
coming from Sydney the water smelt and tasted funny there early 90's

i remember opening our water bottles in gnarloo and they stunk
was thinking mates did something to our water as payback for **** we pulled out them

ended up opening about 4 bottles
all with the same smell
No idea what it was but tasted ok

all I know is sydney water taste the best
maybe it's in the genes but there's no cancer in our family and I've got good teeth

I stop at the shells for a coffee and...the water all the time..

You should get free bottled water for the prices Shell charge.
In NSW Shell always say more expensive eg 10 to 20c more.

when you live in rural areas and rain water (those lucky enough to get it) is your only option then city tap water is a no no, the taste is weird and def has a chemical tinge to it, with fluoride etc etc. I cannot drink plain city water.

How are your teeth and family etc?
I am 72 and have all my healthy teeth.
I only drink tap water so no RIP off bottled water.
I do not contribute to unnecessary plastic waste water bottles going into the environment or the pollution from the process producing bottled water.
But on the positive side I guess helps employment in production, selling and cleaning up the waste plastic. Also dentists are happy.
If you do not like the taste air it like you do your red wine and all will be good.

theres 2 x the fluoride you need in toothpaste, no need to be in your water.
Bottled water contains obscene amounts of plastic, the worst thing you can drink water out of is plastic.
There is no way a 1mm walled plastic bottle will not pollute the water if left in the sun for a few days.
My fridge nowadays has a big carbon filter on it, it gets all the heavy metals and most of the suspended particles, which is absolutely fantastic,,,,,,buuuut it removes a lot of minerals and/or trace elements as well which is not so good.
Water whilst requiring to be clean , should not be stripped of all its particles to drink in all occasions.

The saying there is something in the water is there for a reason, they reckon people who drink from clay soaks have better bones and healthier gut flora due to the clay and associated minerals in the water.

The Japanese who live to over 90 everyone reckons its diet, yes it is but they also did a study on the municipal water there and a lot is from wells/soaks and rainwater so pretty well untampered and full of minerals.

I do freeze the milk and oj cartons for esky ice when I go fish killing.

drinkin my milk and juice and half the food I eat out of plastic is enough.

There was also a video on you tube of the cheese slices covered in plastic and they sizzle and crackle like plastic when lit with a lighter,,, yeah so don't eat them either.
