This is currently happening in the UK, Japan France and Oz. last year it was the US, Norway, Sweden, Guam and the Netherlands.
its a pre recorded message sent by an Autodialler. These have to be treated as a real threat. Better to react than risk a worst case scenario.
there is little that can be done to stop it.

I just cant get my head around why 5 ,6 ,7 year old's need to be subjected to this crap? or what go's on in the mind of an individual who would get a kick out of this? and what are the authorities doing? its been school after school for days now!

Do nothing, treat them all as hoaxes, that way when it's for real and kids get killed people can jump up an down saying the authorities knew about it but did nothing.

As a parent its the frustration factor! the disruption. what a way to start your schooling? i'm sure they are doing a lot! id just love to know what? Full credit to the teachers
they get paid stuff all then have to deal with BS like this? they evacuated the whole school ( 500-600 children ) and walked them 4 KM up the road to another school for collection. I guess all anyone wants is results and positive action.

Difficult to stop these days, once upon a time bomb threats were done from landlines, easy to trace and prosecute, then mobiles, a little bit harder but still do-able. Nowadays via autodiallers or on the net, that makes it a lot harder to stop, trace and prosecute. 99.999% of them are hoaxes but the school is evacuated and searched for that 0.001% that might just be legit.

If someone is going to bomb a school, they're not going to announce it first - obviously. As Chris said 99.999% are hoaxes. Why put our children and teachers and police through the regular stress when they are far more likely to die under a car on the way to school?

If schools take hoaxes seriously they will keep being targeted by hoaxers.

Also, if we allow such threats to ruin our society like this, then the real terrorists have already won.

I feel for you Raggy. I tell you what, if this was happening regularly at my kid's school I'd be having something to say. I wouldn't tolerate it.

Hoaxes are a absolute waste of school and police resources and time, but who is going to get up in coroners court and say, "Nah we didn't evacuate the school because all the others were hoaxes, turns out this one was real, oops my bad."

Public places like schools, day cares, movie theatres and shopping centres are well recognised as soft targets. Sooner or later...

these places are meant to be safe environments where parents are comfortable with the environment and the knowledge there children are protected.

It's hard to believe that in this day and age and with all the technology you can't track down the people involved, come on if they can track a person for downloading pirated copy of a movie or music I'm sure they could with this.
If they honestly can't track these people down the community has been fed a whole lot of BS when it comes to technology.

Or leave the search up to 'Readers Digest'...... they can find anyone.

are you serious? This is different to all the bomb hoaxes that were called in by a student with an exam or random d/heads over the last 30yrs. This is a lot, over all Western nations, for 18mths ish now.
Really, if you were a motivated terrorist group wouldn't it be a great idea to put out 1000 hoaxes with an autodialler THEN blow one school for real and get 1000 infidels in one go?

You seriously advocate ignoring them? Phew big call. Lucky those who have to make the hard decisions do so with some thought, and are not guided by an ABC fictional work..

I fear it's going to be sooner rather than later. It's happening all over the world and it's only a matter of time until something awful happens here. Look at how many people who were living in this country oeacefully and are now currently fighting with the Islamic State... Plenty more nutjobs around

15 years ago a bomb threat was a laugh and we got out of class and got to sit on the oval for an hour but the world is a different place now. Even the thought of evacuating 500 people to the same spot is ludacris.

Its not really hard to believe. If I can trick Netflix into not knowing where I live with just a quick visit to a website, 5 mins and I'm invisible, pretty sure it'd be a breeze for someone who knew what they were doing.
